The Department of Anesthesiology was founded in 2002, and became an independent clinical department in 2018. Its predecessor is the anesthesia group of oral and maxillofacial surgery. At present, it has developed into a first-level clinical department, integrating clinical anesthesia and analgesia, emergency, resuscitation, teaching and scientific research, with a professional technical team.

Our professional area covers clinical anesthesia and postoperative pain treatment for maxillofacial surgery, sedation and general anesthesia for children's dental care and other clinical dental treatment. At the same time, we also undertake the rescue mission for the urgent and critical patients in the hospital. We are experienced in the management of various difficult airway, and anesthesia management of senile, pediatric and high risk patients. We carry out teaching and scientific research combined with clinical practice, and undertake the teaching, probation and practice missions of undergraduates in Zhejiang university.

The department enjoys many technical advantages, including induction technique of inhalation anesthesia, ultrasound guided anesthesia, intravenous target controlled infusion, visualize endotracheal intubation, fibrobronchoscope guided intubation, depth monitoring of anesthesia, controlled hypotension, etc.
